The event has been called “the Miracle on the Hudson River”, and the captain pilot Chesley Burnett “Sully” Sullenberger III has been seen as a hero.
Soon, the aircraft contacted the surface of the Hudson River, and it started to drift. Eyewitnesses couldn’t believe their eyes. Most passengers walked out to stand on the wings while some were swimming away in case an explosion took place.
Just after the takeoFF while the passengers and crew members were expecting to enjoy a pleasant flight, something unexpected happened. The aircraft struck a flock of birds and lost power in both engines. The moment of life or death had arrived.
